ESG in action
At OSiT we have a strong purpose to be a fair and responsible company, focussing on improving the lives of our people, protecting the planet and contributing to our community.
Our third annual Environmental, Social, Governance report for 2023-24 has now been published. It allows us to reflect on our performance against many different metrics, track our progress towards our ESG targets and set our priorities, and areas of focus, for the coming year.
We’ve made some good progress but we always want to improve (and hopefully inspire and influence others too). Some highlights of our ESG performance from last year include:
• Completed energy audits across all our London buildings.
• Obtained Planet Mark certification for a second year, following submission of our carbon emissions and social value contributions.
• Launched new partnerships with charities and community causes which are local to our buildings: supporting them through fundraising, volunteering, collecting donations raising awareness of their work.
• Included in The Sunday Times ‘Best places to work’ list (in the small company category) following our employee engagement and wellbeing survey.
• Completed BREEAM certifications across our London portfolio.
• Won ‘Best newcomer, highly commended’ at the 2023 Planet Mark awards.
• Achieved energy performance certificate (EPC) ratings of ‘B’ across our entire London portfolio, after implementing improvement plans and upgrades over the last few years.
• Started using Open Energy consumption data platform ‘True’ - allowing us to access this info in seconds.
• Joined the ‘Climate for SMEs: 4 steps to action’ course (supported by Heart of the City) to further our understanding of the complexities of achieving net zero emissions and help us plan out and navigate our journey towards this.
