OSiT’s favourite places for after work drinks, dinner and date nights

Are you looking for a friendly local pub to enjoy a pint or two with colleagues at the end of the week, a fun bar for drinks with the girls, a restaurant where you’re guaranteed a good meal or somewhere a bit different to take someone special who you want to impress?

We’ve put our heads together and come up with a list of some of our favourite pubs, bars and eateries, close to our Monument office space centre.

1. The Deck

With a private rooftop café, bar and event space, The Deck, on site and available to all our employees and clients we don’t have to go very far to find the perfect spot to enjoy panoramic views of The City, the Thames and the South Bank with a cold beer or G&T in hand.

2. Vagabond Wines

51 Gracechurch Street, EC3V OEH

The perfect place for wine lovers. There are 100+ wines from around the world to be discovered and with nifty ‘self-pour’ machines it’s easy to select a taster or a glass of any of them. It’s fun, it’s quirky and it’s a great venue whether you’re a group or a couple.

3. Brewdog Tower Hill

21 Great Tower Street, EC3R 5AR

If you prefer a pint to a pinot this one’s for you. You’ll find 36 taps pouring craft beer, some even brewed onsite. The menu features iconic brand favourites, to super small batch specials from other craft breweries. Plus they have some fun events during the week – shuffleboard anyone?

4. Borough Market

Southwark Street, SE1 1TL

A quick walk over the Millennium Footbridge is Borough Market and its many culinary delights. The historic market in London has more to offer than food stalls these days, it’s home to some of the hottest restaurants in the capital … and you’re spoiled for choice. You’ll find everything from Mexican tacos to Spanish tapas, seafood platters to succulent steaks. It really is a foody mecca and you’re guaranteed to leave with your taste buds tickled.

5. Eastcheap Records

20 Eastcheap, EC3M 1EB

If you’re looking for a fun night out and love live music head this way for lots of different acts each week as well as decent pizzas if you need an energy boost mid boogie … they even have a cocktail happy hour every day.

6. The Raven

218 Tower Bridge Road, SE1 2UP

An independent pub, south of the river, this is a bit of a trek from our Monument serviced office … but a great option if you commute to London Bridge station. A small pub with cosy corners and craft ales, beers and ciders.
